Home Alone- Day 2 (twisted pearl necklace DIY)

i have thousand things to do today (since kids are both in school) but first things first!  this project cannot wait any longer.  i came across Lovely Layered Pearls DIY tutorial on NewYorkDesignShop.  please forgive me for not including my own step-by-step description but all i would be doing repeating the link above.  the only changes are: i used jewelry making wire to tie the ends of the necklace and also my strands were shorter.  thus the necklace ended up being shorter.

all supplies are from Joann's (sale!)
peach top from Ross
lipstick- Revlon's Soft Nude

  3. Ashley,
Thank you for your comment and sorry New York Design Shop is no more.
I recommend using pearl trim in various colors or even sizes instead of glass pearl beads I used. With pearl trim you won't have to worry about strands breaking and spilling all over as it happen to me once. The reason I used pearl beads was that I wanted certain colors that were not available in trimmings.
Sorry, I am worst instructions giver... At the end I hand stitched two pretty ribbons to each end and I tie them in a bow or a knot behind my neck.
I believe the original instructions just glued the ends together with a glue gun. My necklace was way too short to glue and try to pull it over my head every time.
I hope I answered your question. Please let me know if you need more clarification.
I have no special jewelry making tools. If you know how to make jewelry you may have tons of better ideas on how to secure the ends.
I remember one blogger has made a rope necklace and hand stitched snaps to the ends. I'll try to find a link.
take care and thanks again for visiting my blog!
