gold jewelry from Georgia

all the pictures above are from the National Treasury of Georgia website.
if you are interested in learning about these artifacts go here and here.

and here are some pictures of my own "treasures" from Georgia:

a book on Georgia's archeological findings, a little replica of the the lion figure from 23 B.C., a clay vessel shaped as a ram figure, and finally, my favorite- wooden bracelet.  i bought it when i was about 15 or 16 years old, with my first money.  as high school students we had to go to a mandatory work camp one summer (i think we picked tomatoes?) and (surprisingly) we got paid a little.  i decided to buy something to remember my first paycheck by.  i found this beautiful wooden bracelet in one of the souvenir shops in Tbilisi, Georgia.

today one little lady in Georgia turned 130 (at least that's what her relatives claim).  i love old people (and little children too).  happy 130th  birthday, Antisa!
vodka and great-grandchildren will keep you going

i am so buying this book right now!
